Boston's Public Library is an historic structure that fronts Copley Square, a public sculptured garden where many performances happen throughout the year. On New Year's Eve, this is the location for the ice sculptures of First Night. In the summer this square hosts the fresh farmer's markets, and some evenings there are live entertainers featured.

Neighboring this square is Old South Church to the norht (bottom left), Trinity Church to the east, John Hancock Tower to the South and two large hotels, as well as shopping and dining in each direction. Just two street north is Commonwealth Avenue, home to the stunning condominium structure (bottom right).
The residences in Boston and Brookline are sometimes the ''brownstones' redish brown brick townhomes that today may remain a townhouse or may have been divided into several apartments or condominiums.
